Residents in the Daytona Beach Mosaic neighborhood say their sidewalks are a safety hazard, and the problem only gets worse when it rains.

People living in the subdivision report that the sidewalks are uneven, slippery, and prone to pooling water, making them dangerous to walk on. Some even choose to walk in the street rather than risk slipping.

"Especially during the rainy season, there is constantly water sitting on the sidewalks," said Mosaic resident Dave Fouser."Algae starts to grow from the runoff from the soil fertilizers, whatever, these dark spots act like grease."

Fouser says the slippery conditions have led to multiple injuries, from bruises and cuts to more serious incidents.
