The Cloverdale Jr. Hockey Club couldn't have asked for a better “night 2” in the Pacific Junior Hockey League.

Although the expansion club dropped their home opener 4-0 to the Mission City Outlaws, they bounced right back in a home-and-home with Mission City and downed them 4-1 in the return game.

Club GM Brien Gemmell told the Cloverdale Reporter getting that first win under their belt was a relief.

“I was happy with our first two games,” Gemmell said. “Obviously, being off for two weeks … you wonder how you’ll come out of the gate.”

He said despite the scoreline, he thought the players had a great game 1 in the PJHL. Then they followed that up with a big away win.
