KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — An upcoming closure on Alcoa Highway in Knox County next month will have significant impact on traffic over multiple days, the Tennessee Department of Transportation announced Wednesday.

Depending on favorable weather conditions, all northbound lanes of Alcoa Highway between John Sevier Highway and the University of Tennessee Medical Center will close beginning Saturday, October 4.

All roadwork is anticipated to be complete by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7. The roadwork and closure would be rescheduled to the weekend of October 18 if inclement weather occurs.
