MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A Mesa man got a notification from his credit card company that it was closing his account because they said he filed for bankruptcy.
He knew it was a mistake. He’d never gone bankrupt. And when it happened with another card, he called in On Your Side to get it fixed.
Michael Anderson keeps his credit in great shape by paying all his bills on time. So when his Apple Card was abruptly being closed, it came as a surprise, and the reason it was being closed didn’t make any sense.
“Your account’s showing that you have a bankruptcy,” he said. “ I said, ‘I don’t have a bankruptcy.’ And, they said, well, based on the reporting from LexisNexis, you have a bankruptcy at this point, and we have to close your account.”
