Protesters set fire to a CRPF vehicle and burned down BJP's office in Leh.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a statement over the Leh violence that erupted on Wednesday. The Home Ministry in its statement claimed, "Sonam Wangchuk incited the crowd with his inflammatory statements, broke his fast during the violence, but instead of helping control the situation, he left for his village in an ambulance."

The ministry said that discussions are ongoing within a high-level committee regarding the demands for which Wangchuk had initiated a hunger strike.

Many leaders had asked Wangchuk to end the strike, but he had continued it anyway.

According to latest information 4 people died during this incident and more than 80 people were injured.
