Three California state agencies on Tuesday issued a joint statement criticizing President Donald Trump’s administration over claims related to Tylenol, pregnancy and autism.
Trump and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday recommended that pregnant women avoid acetaminophen, citing research they claimed showed a connection between use of the drug during pregnancy and autism.
California’s Department of Public Health, Office of the Surgeon General and the Department of Developmental Services said, “We are currently seeing the federal government provide a proliferation of simple answers to complex issues and false claims that can cause harm.”
