SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - On Monday, President Donald Trump, backed by his health team, announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will be notifying physicians that the use of acetaminophen during pregnancy can be linked to an increased risk of autism .

Since then, physicians across the nation have been speaking out against the claims. One local doctor at Siouxland OB-GYN shared what they’re telling patients.

“Tylenol has historically been considered very, very safe in pregnancy, and it’s something we commonly use for fevers, headaches, pains, in pregnancies,” said Dr. Chandler Kasuske.

On Monday, President Trump made an announcement from the Oval Office about autism.

“Don’t take it. Don’t take it,” said the President.
