CLACKAMAS COUNTY Ore. (KPTV) - The trial for the man accused of stabbing a mailman to death in Clackamas County will soon get underway after a full day of jury selection on Wednesday.

More than a year later, family members of the victim, Tristan Thomas, are looking forward to seeing the suspect, Chad Westover, face a jury.

“We will be relieved to get this trial behind us and hopefully we will get the outcome we want, and we can start the healing process,” Tristan’s cousin Brandon Thomas said.

Chad Westover is pleading not guilty to the charges of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon in the 2024 murder of his neighbor Tristan Thomas.
