A Baltimore man with prior felony convictions has been found guilty of illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition, federal prosecutors announced.
A jury convicted 47-year-old David Funderburk of Baltimore of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The conviction was announced by Kelly O. Hayes, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland, alongside Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent in Charge Charles Doerrer and Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley.
The case stemmed from a November 3, 2023, patrol by the Baltimore Police Department’s Southwest District Action Team.
Detectives on routine patrol in the 1500 block of West Baltimore Street reported seeing Funderburk displaying what they described as signs of carrying a weapon.
