KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A man convicted of first-degree murder for shooting at Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers after a high-speed chase in January 2025 has also been indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice for a firearms offense.

Eugenio Abraham Solis-Klarks, 31, was indicted for possessing a firearm as an illegal alien, according to a release from the DOJ. He was previously sentenced to 18 years in prison without the possibility of parole for his role in the January shooting.

Solis Klarks pleaded not guilty to the charges in the indictments, but was ordered detained pending trial, which has been set for Dec. 2, 2025.
