SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Springfield Cardinals are Texas League Champions.

The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead and kept the pedal to the medal in the win in the deciding Game 3, 13-1 victory against the Midland RockHounds.

The Cardinals scored three runs in the first and never looked back. Behind a great pitching performance from Brycen Mautzand and an explosive night at the plate, the Baby Birds claimed their first Texas League title since 2012.
