ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Skyway Bridge is back open after the bomb squad was called to a car with a suspicious box in it on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Investigators say that the car belonged to a man who jumped off the bridge and was later found dead.

The Skyway Bridge was closed for around 45 minutes while detectives investigated the threat.

Southbound traffic was being diverted at 54th Ave. S and northbound traffic is being diverted at US-41.

No explosives were found, and the bridge was reopened.
