Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand is expected to meet her Indian counterpart, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, in the coming weeks, a report with Bloomberg has claimed.
During an interview, Anita Anand said domestic public safety is the top priority for her country’s government. She added that Canada’s national security adviser just met with her Indian counterpart, and the two discussed transnational repression.
“We will continue to stay on top of it for the benefit of the safety and security of the Canadian public," Anand was quoted as saying.
The report also suggested that Anita will be meeting her Chinese counterpart, too, as she said that Canada must “ensure we have a bilateral relationship with significant economic powers in the Indo-Pacific."
