DRY RIDGE, Ky. —
Sen. Rand Paul and U.S. Rep. Thomas Massie visited multiple towns in Northern Kentucky, addressing their occasional opposition to bills supported by President Donald Trump.
Their seventh stop was at Beans, a coffee shop in Dry Ridge that remained open during the COVID-19 pandemic. Advertisement
"Here at Beans, they fought," Sen. Paul said.
Both Republicans expressed their readiness to break with their party and President Trump over a potential government shutdown next week.
"So you say, 'Why don't you people just do what the President tells you? Why don't you just do everything the President tells you?' Because sometimes he's not right. He's right a lot of the times, but spending and restarting the foreign aid is a huge mistake, and I will vote adamantly 'no,'" Paul
