Srinagar, Sep 25: The Jammu & Kashmir Employees Joint Consultative Committee (JKEJCC) on Thursday appealed to employees across the Union Territory to participate in a symbolic two-hour pen-down strike scheduled for today from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm.

The JKEJCC said the programme is aimed at drawing the government’s attention towards long-pending demands concerning the welfare, security, and dignity of employees, including timely release of GPF bills, restoration of SRO-43 in its original form, regularisation of temporary employees such as FPS dealers and contractual staff, extension of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) to all employees, leave encashment for teachers at par with other departments, and freedom to open salary accounts in banks of their choice, ending the monopoly of J&K Bank.
