Yolo County is facing nearly $1.7 million in expenses after a deadly fireworks explosion in Esparto killed seven people and burned 78 acres. The Board of Supervisors approved reallocating funds to cover cleanup and legal costs, including $750,000 for county services and $950,000 for the District Attorney’s investigation and prosecution. Officials say recovery of some costs may be possible, but much of the financial burden will fall on the county.
