Samir Modi, the brother of fugitive businessman and former IPL chief Lalit Modi, has been granted bail on Thursday. in a rape case filed by a former colleague.

Additional Sessions Judge Deepak Vats of Saket District Court passed the order granting bail to Samir Modi.

Delhi Police had opposed the bail plea.

The order was reserved by the judge after hearing the submissions made by the victim's lawyers, including senior advocate Geeta Luthra, Shubham Mahajan and Ravish Thukral.

Senior advocate Ramesh Gupta, alongwith with Shailendra Singh and Surya Pratap Singh, who appeared for Samir Modi, rebutted the complainant's submissions.
