Queensland police officers have narrowly voted to accept a pay deal from the state government that includes an 8 per cent wage increase over three years.

The enterprise bargaining deal agreed to by union members on Thursday will deliver a minimum pay rise of 3 per cent in the first year, followed by a 2.5 per cent hike in each of the following two years.

It also includes an $8,000 retention cash payment over two years and allowances for remote and night shift work.

Nearly 10,000 of the union's 13,000 members participated in the ballot over 10 days.

A preliminary count showed 51.6 per cent voted in favour of the bargaining offer, with the final numbers still being verified.
