Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami , is a significant festival in Hinduism, symbolising the triumph of good over evil. It marks the day when Goddess Durga defeated the demon Mahishasura, and it is celebrated on the 10th day of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase) in the month of Ashwin . Each year, this festival is observed with great enthusiasm and devotion.
This year, there has been some confusion over the exact date. To clarify, Ujjain-based astrologer Acharya Anand Bhardwaj has provided guidance based on the Vedic calendar. According to him, Dashami Tithi will begin at 7:01 pm on October 1 and end at 7:10 pm on October 2. As a result, Dussehra will be observed on October 2, 2025.
