The Seventy-First Falcons are No. 1 in the 910Preps Midseason Power Rankings just ahead of the open week for Fayetteville-area football teams.

However, regaining the top spot wasn't easy for the Falcons after being punched in the mouth at the start of the season, suffering a Week 1 loss to Terry Sanford on a game-sealing field goal.
