The Northern Beaches is the last place you see working dogs rounding up a paddock of sheep, but this was where it all started for champion trialer Jess Kimpton.

Growing up, Ms Kimpton said she was originally involved in agility training dogs but got her first taste of working dogs at 13-years-old.
"I went with my Sheltie to try some ANKC herding," she said.
"I met Colin Webster there and he gave me a real dog, as a he called it, and then I went 'oh I like this three sheep stuff'."
