This incident comes months after a series of explosions in February, when three empty buses near Tel Aviv were targeted with explosive devices. Authorities classified those blasts as a "terror attack."

No casualties were reported in the February bus explosions, as the buses were empty. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said three explosive devices detonated inside the buses in southern Tel Aviv.

The first two bus bombs went off within minutes, while the third exploded about fifteen minutes later. Israeli responders found additional explosives on two other buses that had not detonated.
