State Rep. Juandalynn Givan, who lost in her effort to unseat incumbent Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin in the Aug. 26 city election , said today that an ethics complaint filed against her during the campaign has been dismissed.
Cynthia Raulston, special assistant to the director of the Alabama Ethics Commission, reached today by AL.com, confirmed that the complaint has been dropped after an investigation.
“I’m thankful to the Ethics Commission,” Givan said.
Givan said she’s now working on legislation that would impose penalties to punish those who file frivolous complaints against elected officials with the Ethics Commission. “It is being written right now,” she said.
