IOWA CITY — Was Illinois that bad?
Or is Indiana really that good?
That was the gist of one of the hundreds of questions from my text-message group this week, while Hawkeye fans everywhere brace themselves for the worst ahead of Iowa football ’s Homecoming game Sept. 27 against No. 12-ranked Indiana (2:30 p.m. CT, Peacock).
Indiana’s 63-10 pasting of then-No. 9 Illinois on Sept. 20 marked the largest-ever margin of victory against a top-10 team by a non-top-10 team. The Hoosiers have looked so good in racking up a combined score of 192-19 (my goodness) over the past three weeks that Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz remarked in seriousness, “It's hard to find a weakness (in Indiana). It really is. I'm not saying it's like playing Ohio State, but there are some similarities in my mind if you l
