A mistrial was declared for a Pueblo man on Sept. 23 in connection with the Sept. 26, 2024, homicide of Nicholas Grace.
Aaron Alvarado , 25, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with Grace's death, as well as other charges, including complicity to aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.
However, the murder charge was dismissed Sept. 23 by Judge Thomas Flesher, according to court records obtained by the Chieftain . Parties were discussing motions outside the presence of the jury when the defendant called for a continuance, according to court records. In doing so, Alvarado waived his right to a speedy trial.
