LOWER MANHATTAN (PIX11) -- Attorneys for Sean "Diddy" Combs and prosecutors will make their cases before a judge who’s now deciding the music mogul’s fate.

A judge is set to hear from Combs' defense team and prosecutors on Thursday, as he decides the record label founder’s prison sentence.

Combs’s team is arguing for a fast-tracked release from prison after the musician was convicted on prostitution charges earlier this year, but prosecutors are pushing for a heftier sentence.

His defense team argued in court filings that the 55-year-old should serve no longer than 14 months in prison. By his official Oct. 3 sentencing date, Combs will have already served 13 months.

With credit for good behavior, a 14-month sentence would allow for an immediate release.
