Assam’s Law and Tourism Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass has stirred a political storm with his explosive remarks on Shyamkanu Mahanta following the death of music icon Zubeen Garg.

Addressing the media, Dass alleged that North East Festival Organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta had persistently called and messaged him, requesting his visit to Singapore with the promise of securing tourism department advertisements. Dass claimed he had “categorically refused” such overtures, making it clear that he was not interested in such dealings.
