Silchar: In a move aimed at facilitating urgent Durga Puja-related work, the Public Works Roads Department (PWRD) has announced a temporary closure of one lane along the Silchar Medical College Road stretch, from Beltola Point at Meherpur near Green Hills Hospital to Durga Pally Point near Punjab National Bank, Ghungoor. The partial road closure will remain in force from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM for three consecutive nights, beginning September 25 and continuing till September 27.

Officials clarified that while one lane will remain shut for construction and festival preparedness, traffic flow in both directions will continue uninterrupted through the alternate lane. This arrangement, the authorities assured, has been designed to minimize disruption for
