NORMAN — Fort Gibson’s Cooper Hackett, a five-star offensive line recruit and the No. 1 player in the state of Oklahoma for the class of 2027, flipped his college commitment from Texas Tech to Oklahoma on Thursday.
Hackett had been committed to Tech since Aug. 30, but visited the OU campus for the Michigan and Auburn games and was eventually pulled back in by the Sooners. Hackett told Rivals that he agreed to take less money than Tech was offering to commit to OU.
“If I’m in the NFL, which is what I want to do overall, that money is not going to matter, and I’m going to bet on myself a good amount of the time, and that’s what I’m doing,” Hackett told Rivals.
A 6-foot, 250-pound prospect, Hackett is ranked the No. 3 offensive tackle and No. 10
