SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) has released the photo of a suspect in the September mass shooting that left two dead and injured many others.

SPD has identified 21-year-old Rasson Smith Jr. as a suspect in the Sept. 20 shooting on Poland Avenue.

Police say the shooting occurred just after 2 a.m. in the 1600 block of Poland Avenue when officers responded to reports of gunfire at a large gathering of more than 150 people.

Upon arrival, they encountered a chaotic scene and discovered eight victims with gunshot wounds. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, while six others were injured and expected to survive.
