Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday urged the people of the state to remain calm regarding the case of cultural icon Zubeen Garg's death. He assured the people of Assam that the probe would be completed within 15 days and his government "wouldn't hesitate" to seek a CBI investigation to "uncover the truth". The sudden demise of actor-singer Garg has provoked his fans, who are suspecting foul play.

An SIT probing Zubeen's death raided the house of his manager, Siddhartha Sharma, in Guwahati on Thursday. The SIT also raided the Guwahati residence of Shyamkanu Mahanta, the chief organiser of the event for which Zubeen had travelled to Singapore, according to an ANI report.
