Lightning caused a house fire in Brentwood late Wednesday night, according to the fire department.
No injuries were reported. The home on Anderson Avenue, near Walnut Avenue, had only minor damage from the fire that sparked when lightning struck the home's weather vane on the roof. That ignited something inside the house, the Contra Costa Fire District said.
Construction workers remodeling the home were upstairs at the time of the fire but managed to escape the flames.
No other details were available.
