State Superintendent Ryan Walters announced his resignation on Wednesday night on FOX News.
He said he will now serve as , a branch of the Freedom Foundation non-profit. Walters is expected to speak to the State Board of Education on Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m.
The Teacher Freedom Alliance is an anti-union organization that aims to "provide educators with liability insurance, professional development opportunities, continuing education credit hours, and access to alternative curricula." The group's website says Walters will help the TFA "take the fight straight to the unions," which they refer to as "woke liberal" mobs.
According to the Freedom Foundation, Walters will officially assume the CEO role on October 1, 2025.
