SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Some Thursday morning commuters in Northern California may have woken up to damp roads or scattered showers.

Meteorologist Tamara Berg said isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through the morning, with the best chances at higher elevations in the Sierra, which could see continued activity through the afternoon.

Areas more likely to have seen thunderstorms are in the Foothills south of the Highway 50 corridor.

Lightning has sparked some fires, but not to the same extent as a complex of fires that destroyed dozens of homes and businesses in Tuolumne County earlier this month. Cal Fire's Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit said it gained control over all six reported fires, with none being larger than a quarter acre in size.
