A 73-year-old Sikh woman was deported to India after living in the US for over 30 years , her lawyer Deepak Ahluwalia said. Harjit Kaur was not even given a chance to say goodbye to her family or collect her belongings before being sent back to India by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to the lawyer. Ahluwalia said Kaur was handcuffed as she was taken to the ICE facility in Los Angeles before being brought to India.
Kaur, who is originally from Punjab, reached Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Tuesday. The matter, however, came to light on Thursday after the lawyer posted a video detailing the incident.
Kaur's lawyer Ahluwalia, in the video posted on social media, revealed that she was abruptly moved from Bakersfield to Los Angeles on Sunday n
