Donny's Deli in Westgate Street is now open from breakfast through to late, and boasts a menu that celebrates the capitals' varied food cultures.

This summer, DJ Simon Bays, aka Alien Communications, launched 'Dirty Donny’s' as a tongue-in-cheek homage to his lifelong love of kebabs.

But the venture drew online criticism, due to its proximity to Dalston’s longstanding Turkish community - sparking debates around cultural sensitivity.

He decided to close the project after just one month with a heartfelt apology and came up with a new concept for Donny’s Deli, focused on London’s dining and music cultures, with top quality East End suppliers, vinyl grooves, and bags of community spirit.
