Residents in Edinburgh saw their street completely transformed into a festive set for a new Morrisons 'Christmas advert.'

Broomhall Park was decorated with festive lights as the road was taken over by cranes, lorries and bright stage lights.

The west Edinburgh road was closed for several hours while filming took place and one local reported seeing a home and a fire engine covered with 'Christmas decorations'

Morrisons remained tight lipped about the advert but thanked locals for their 'cooperation' during filming.

The TV ad is expected to air later this year.

"We were going down Broomhall Terrace and stunned to see giant trucks on such a small street," a local said.
