WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins announced Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr., M.D., as the new National Advisor for Nutrition, Health and Housing at the USDA.

Secretary Rollins highlighted Dr. Carson's extensive qualifications and his role in shaping policies to improve Americans' quality of life. She emphasized the importance of his insight, especially as six in ten Americans live with at least one chronic disease.

“There is no one more qualified than Dr. Carson to advise on policies that improve Americans’ everyday quality of life, from nutrition to healthcare quality to ensuring families have access to safe and stable housing,” said Rollins.
