Kings Mountain Police Department was recognized at a recent city council meeting for its work in becoming accredited, one of only nine agencies in the state to earn the prestigious status.
Bill Hollingsed, chairman of the North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation Committee, presented the certificate to the department.
"Tonight we celebrate a milestone for the Kings Mountain Police Department and the entire Kings Mountain community," Hollingsed said. "On behalf of the North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation Committee, I offer my sincere congratulations to Kings Mountain Police Department for earning the North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation award, meeting all 116 standards of professional excellence."
