CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Amaré Barno is facing several charges, including assault on a female, following a reported incident Wednesday night, according to Mecklenburg County court records.

Court documents state that a 26-year-old woman from Charlotte told Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police that Barno, who is 6'5" tall and weighs 260 pounds, "aggressively pushed me into a vehicle and pushed me again after I didn’t fall to the ground."

She also described an argument over personal belongings during which Barno allegedly tried to take a purse he had bought for her and dumped out its contents.

"There was a back and forth, regarding items I was removing from the residence, which caused him to attempt [ to grab] a purse he bought for me from me, and dumping
