PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The jury has found Joseph Cross guilty on all charges in the double murder trial of Alvin and Calvin Joyner.
Cross was accused of killing twin brothers Alvin and Calvin Joyner and wounding a woman in Portsmouth in 2023.
The jury convicted him on the following charges:
first degree murder (2 counts)
aggravated murder
aggravated malicious wounding
robbery
carjacking
use of a firearm in commission of a felony (5 counts)
Cross' attorney told 13News Now his team was disappointed with the verdict.
"I briefly had time to talk to him, and yes, he is disappointed by the verdict," said Nathan Chapman. "We believe there is a lot more to this story than what came out in court."
