The family dispute over industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s estate, estimated at around Rs 30,000 crore, continued on Thursday as the Delhi High Court questioned his widow Priya Sachdev Kapur’s demand for confidentiality in revealing her late husband’s assets.
Priya’s counsel, Shyel Trehan, told the court that the asset details, including bank account information, posed a cybersecurity risk and should be filed in a sealed cover. “I am not saying I won’t disclose, I just want to do it in confidentiality," he said.
Justice Jyoti Singh challenged this request, asking how much information could realistically be kept under wraps and how the court could enforce such an order. She also asked Priya Sachdev’s team to point out any legal provision that allows asset disclosures to remain confidential.
