ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A 9-month-old girl was shot and killed near a Cobb County motel on Tuesday night, according to police.

At around 8 p.m., police responded to 4900 Circle 75 Pkwy, the listed address for Budgetel Inns and Suites - Atlanta Galleria Stadium, for reports of shots fired. There are also several other motels in the area near Windy Hill Road.

The baby’s mother had called 911 to report the shooting, according to police. Officers said the victim “was beyond lifesaving measures” and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Cobb County police said they’ve arrested a suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ladarrius Brown. Police said he’s charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. (Cobb County Sheriff'
