PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - AppalRed Legal Aid is offering support to those filing FEMA appeals.
They are also helping to needing legal divorce or custody support.
Whitney Bailey is the Disaster Response Coordinator for AppalRed and said for those dealing with FEMA to not give up.
“If you are able to obtain new supporting documentation like a home repair estimate or provide receipts for items that were damaged or destroyed by a disaster and submit that to FEMA, then you can still be considered for additional assistance.“
Bailey said disaster survivors typically submit documents within a 60 day window. However, if you have a contraction estimate that is even a couple month old, it can still be submitted along with a letter asking to wave the window.
