The Crusaders defeated the Okotoks Oilers 6-3 on Friday, Sept. 19 in Okotoks, scoring four unanswered goals in the third period. On Saturday, Sept. 20, they returned to Sherwood Park Arena for their home opener, beating the Spruce Grove Saints 6-2. Article content Article content

Stevie Grumley opened the scoring against the Okotoks Oilers in his first non-exhibition game as team captain.

“We drew a powerplay early in the game. We won the draw, and I got it in the half wall and sent the seam pass across to Gleb and I followed the play in and found the rebound,” Grumley recounted.
