Funeral arrangements have been released for longtime Jefferson County Sheriff John Aubrey , who died Sept. 23 while serving his final term. He was 86.
JCSO Lt. Col. Carl Yates confirmed Aubrey's visitation will take place Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Southeast Christian Church, located at 920 Blankenbaker Pkwy. Aubrey's funeral service will take place at the same location Oct. 2, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
He will be buried at Saint Michael Cemetery, located at 1300 Ellison Ave.
"We are expecting a number of people from out of town because he touched so many lives and different venues," Yates said.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office will close at noon Oct. 1 and will be closed all day Oct. 2, he said.
