Ladakh Unrest: Ladakh Congress President Nawang Rigzin Jora on Thursday demanded a judicial probe into the violent protest that claimed at least four lives and left 90 others injured.

In a letter addressed to Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta, Jora criticised the police firing on protesters, saying that the situation could have been handled with little more restraint.

“I am approaching you with a heavy heart and deep sorrow to demand a judicial enquiry into the unfortunate incident leading to the death of 4 young men. We condemn the harsh and repressive measures that were carried out," he stated in the letter.
