The intersection of 3rd Street and Larry Holmes Drive , a common entry point into Downtown Easton, may look vastly different in the future.

A new roundabout at the busy intersection is among the major improvements proposed in Easton’s Safe Streets for All plan. The goal is to calm and slow down traffic, making it safer for both cars and pedestrians.

Chris Stanford, an engineer and planner with Michael Baker International , presented the plan to city council on Wednesday evening.

“This is not your traditional New Jersey traffic circle,” Stanford said. “This is a modern roundabout that’s designed at low speeds for higher safety.”
