MORGAN COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia middle school student, along with the child's mother, was detained this month by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the sheriff's office.
The move came as the Morgan County Sheriff's Office said it was looking into a "concerning situation" where the student at Morgan County Middle School was accused of drawing images and written messages that showed an interest in school violence.
"During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the student had engaged in research and online activity consistent with a growing interest in school violence," the sheriff's office said.
