Dear Editor:

If you’re like me, you answer your phone only to find out the person you are speaking with is interested in one item only — and that item is your Medicare number.

I have no idea how many times I have received bogus phone calls about this. I have tried in vain to block them with the Do Not Call Registry from the Federal Communications Commission — no help there. I tried blocking them with Verizon — no help there, either.

Something has to be done on the federal government level to end these annoying calls because the people doing the calling do not give up — they keep calling and calling using different phone numbers. I, for one, am tired of these calls and insist something be done.
